Procard is the software suite for a wide range of tasks associated with plastic cards design and personalization on desktop equipment.

Procard software for plastic card printing has a convenient user interface and many functions that simplify card issuance.
The present version functions under Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows 2000, and Windows 7-10.

One can use Procard to design not only financial cards but also discount, loyalty, fuel, and any other cards and to prepare card personalization data. Input data can come from databases, files, keyboard input is possible, it can be generated automatically, etc. Some built-in drivers allow Procard to support different devices (embossers, printers, digital photo and web cameras, etc.) and allow card production control.

Procard software for plastic card printing controls personalization on the following Entrust Datacard devices:

•  Sigma DS4 ES1, CE840, CE870, DC280P (including models with monochrome printing module),  DC450 (including double indent modification), 150i, SE48 desktop embossers;
• CD800, СD800 CLM, SD160, SD260, SD360, SD460; Entrust  Datacard printers
•  SR Series printers (SR200, SR300, SR300E);
•  CP Series printers (СP40 Plus, CP60 Plus, CP80 Plus);

The program work can be conceptually divided into two stages:

 

Card Design

Card personalization fields and fields’ parameters definition (The field means the card area that will be personalized with some info). Data input source choice (database, file. keyboard, etc.) for dynamic fields, e.g. card number, cardholder first name, and surname, his or her photo. Personalization device choice.

Card Production

Dynamic input data flow creation adding variable information to input data.

Procard system design fields input data can be received from different sources, e.g., keyboard input is possible just before a card issuance, they can be defined automatically as counters’ time and date values, they can be composed of other fields’ values, they can be calculated using special functions, they can be taken from files and databases.

Procard uses ODBC (Open DataBase Connectivity) technology as the files and database interface. Procard current version supports work with the following ODBC drivers

• Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)
• Microsoft dBase Driver (*.dbf)
• Microsoft Excel Driver (*.xls)
• Microsoft Text Driver (*.txt; *.csv)
• SQL Server
• Microsoft ODBC for Oracle

Database flexible work is supported. It means the fast database records navigation, filters set up to read data, data retrieval, and sorting before cards’ printing.

The operator chooses the design type and cards quantity to be issued in the production mode. Procard generates reports on cards issued.

Procard system plastic cards production process safety is achieved by the security system activation. The system provides distinctive user privilege level choices. Procard defines every user privilege level option and user work mode.

Managing the card personalization process
The creation of a design in PROCARD is carried out in full compliance with WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) in the visual design development environment. Fields are added to the map template, in which different types of information will be entered in the future.
The program for printing plastic cards PROCARD supports fields for personalization of the following types:
 
  • magnetic stripe field (3 tracks) pin
  • chip
  • field contactless chip
  • field embossing/indent printing
  • text fields for graphic printing
  • field images (static fields for the application of constant information on the cards (logo, background, etc.), a dynamic field to load the original image on each card from files or database at the time of printing)
  • bar code fields (more than 30 types of barcodes with the ability to change the display settings of the barcode)
  • field laminating
  • Input data for design fields in the PROCARD system can come from various sources, for example, entered from the keyboard (immediately before the card is released), automatically determined as the value of counters, time and date, compiled from the values of other fields, determined using special functions, taken from files and databases.

  As an interface when working with files and databases, PROCARD uses ODBC (Open Data Base Connectivity) technology. The current version of PROCARD supports working with the following ODBC drivers:

Flexible work with database data is supported, namely, fast movement through database records, setting filters when reading data, searching and sorting data before printing maps.

In the card-making mode, the operator selects the type of design and the range of cards to be issued. PROCARD supports the generation of reports on issued cards.

Technological safety

Technological security in the manufacture of plastic cards in the PROCARD system is achieved by activating a security system that allows different users to be given different levels of authority. The terms of reference of a particular user determines the options available to him and the modes of operation of the PROCARD.
