The inexpensive industrial machine model MX1100 from Datacard is designed to perform various types of personalization of plastic cards in a single continuous technological mode.

The equipment is designed taking into account the security standards of international payment systems. A special feature of the complex is the possibility of electrical personalization of cards with a contact or contactless microcircuit, as well as cards with a microcircuit with a double interface.

The capacity of the complex is 600 cards per hour.

The DC MX1100 complex is supplied in several configurations.


Loading module
The loading module is equipped with one tray, which can hold up to 100 pieces of closed passports (16 paper sheets and 1 polycarbonate sheet). The system can include up to 4 loading modules if it is necessary to ensure long-term operation of the equipment without operator intervention, or if it is necessary to work with different types of passports.

• Module for personalization of contactless microcircuit
The module is equipped with one station for programming a microcircuit based on UltraSmart electronics. It supports work with contactless microcircuits with a frequency of 13.56 MHz in the ISO14443 standard, Type A and B. The module software can work with the standard Syntera Customization Suite middleware from DataCard. The system can include up to 4 modules for personalization of the contactless microcircuit.

• Verification module
The module is designed to check the correctness of personalization of passport pages. It can be equipped with various video cameras and a contactless chip reader. In this case, the module is installed after the personalization modules. In addition, the module can be used to control the quality of passport pages before personalization. In this case, it is installed after the page opening module before the personalization modules. The system can include up to 2 verification modules.

• Passport opening module
The module is used to open passports on a specific page to be personalized. Can count up to 10 pages from the passport cover. The module includes a video camera that checks that the passport is indeed open on the required page. At least one such module must be installed after the load module. The system can include up to 3 modules if you need to use different personalization methods for different pages.

• Module of full color inkjet printing
The module is designed for printing color or black-and-white photographs, full name, various inscriptions and drawings on a paper page of a passport with a resolution of 1200 dpi. The module is always installed before the laminating module and after the passport opening module. You can personalize both open passport pages at once. This module is equipped with an accurate positioning mechanism using a computer vision system, which ensures that the print falls into the previously designated fields of the passport pages. The system can include up to 3 full color inkjet modules.

• Laser engraving module
The module is equipped with a diode-pumped air-cooled laser and is designed to apply black and white photographs, texts, bar codes and other images, including security elements such as microtext, engraving images at an angle, etc. You can engrave both open passport pages at once. This module is equipped with a precise positioning mechanism using a computer vision system, which ensures that the engraving enters the previously designated fields of the passport pages. The system can include up to 5 laser engraving modules.

• The main module
The purpose of the module is to control all other modules of the system and provide an interface with a human operator. The module is equipped with a PC with Windows XP Professional OS, LCD display, keyboard and mouse. The main module provides connection of equipment to a local network for data transfer for personalization.

• Module for unloading ready-made passports
The module is designed to store ready-made passports. In addition, the module allows rejected passports to be stored separately. The unloading module is equipped with one tray, which can hold up to 100 pieces of closed passports. The system can include up to 4 unloading modules if it is necessary to ensure long-term operation of the equipment without operator intervention, or if it is necessary to sort the finished passports by any criterion. The module is equipped with a button that allows the operator to pause and resume the system without wasting time walking up to the system controller.

• Module for closing passports
The module closes passports before unloading them. It is always installed in front of the module for unloading ready-made passports.

• Module-buffer for passport
This module can be used when the system includes 2 or more laser engraving modules. The module provides waiting for the passport of its turn for further laser engraving.

• Lamination module
The lamination module applies a transparent protective film to the passport page. Application of the film is carried out by means of heat and pressure, which provides exceptional durability of the coating, which cannot be removed without damaging the passport page. The film is applied over the entire surface of the page with the exception of the zone spaced 3-4 mm from the top and bottom edges of the passport page. The system can include up to 2 laminating modules.
